Surf a Joke – A tribute to Steve Wozinak
Steve Wozinak is regarded as the inventor of the PC. Hardly anybody knows that he had a good sense of humour. Therefore, the founder of "Apple" ran a telephone service called "Dial-a-joke" in the 70ies with great success. Being equipped with an answering machine in the beginning he occasionally answered the calls himself lateron. He did so with a Slawic accent and under the assumed name "Stanley Zebrazutsknitski". This way he got to know his later wife Alice. Finally, he received several thousands of phone calls a day, so that he had to stop this business because he had no time.
Laughing brings people together Surf-a-Joke wants to continue Wozniak’s business and in addition to that it wants to set up the first German-American community that should promote a social exchange among its members – with humour. We ask each Web user to take part in the global exchange "wittily".
